Kailash Ecovillage offers inexpensive dormitory housing. There is a six month minimum stay requirement.
A new concept in community living, it was the first of its kind in Portland when it was created in 2008. It’s a completely remodeled 6-bed hostel style accommodation. (Hostel style means there are no private rooms.)
The total dorm area is about 1100 sq ft; remodeling included brand new bathrooms and kitchen with solid wood cabinets and granite counter-tops. There is a large common room with dining and living areas, two sleeping areas with 2 and 1 bunks each, two bathrooms, 2 toilets, and 4 shower stalls. Each resident has a personal medicine cabinet, clothes cabinet, and locker for storing valuables.
Water, sewer, electric, and garbage service are included in the rent.
