Here is the latest update from Satya:
Hi Folks! Our Solstice Simplicity Convergence starts Friday, December 16, amidst this winter wonderland with dinner at 6 in the Kailash community room, followed by an opening circle at 7. We’re expecting a somewhat smaller and more intimate gathering than in the past seasons, with a less busy schedule of workshops, and with more opportunity for group meditations, movement practices, and small group discussions. Maybe a bit more of a retreat atmosphere. We’ll finalize the schedule tomorrow evening in the circle, but it’s likely Saturday morning will start a bit later – meditation, qigong & yoga around 8, with buffet breakfast at 9:30 and the first workshop around 10:30. (We’ll post the schedule Friday night, so check back). Hope to see you there! (If you plan on staying over, remember a warm sleeping bag, and maybe an extra blanket or two – it’s true Winter Solstice weather!)

The latest installment of our quarterly “Re-Thinking Permaculture” gatherings will focus on nurturing our personal and collective transformations towards revolutionary simplicity – a life of true responsibility towards our natural home, all creatures, and our own joyful and liberated potential as human beings. Particularly during this time of political volatility, we come together to inspire and support each other in creating a new culture to replace the failings of the old. Reflecting the contemplative nature of this season of more darkness and stillness, we will have increased opportunity for meditative practices, and not as busy a workshop schedule – but still several presenters offering a variety of ideas and inspirations to help us grow our movement. As usual there is no charge (donations accepted), and food will be provided for free (overnight stay at the Ecovillage will be possible). Please let us know if you’re interested in coming, if you want to present a workshop, or if you have a question or want to contribute to the shaping of the gathering. Questions and other feedback can be sent to

Here is a link to our Face Book event page with more details, schedule of workshops, etc.

Hope to see many of you there!
